 機能性材料を量子力学的に理解し、さらにその特性をモデリングするうえで、放射光X線は多くの可能性を提供しています。例えば、X線分光はハミルトニアン行列形式による研究アプローチとして幅広く用いられ、X線散乱は密度行列形式による研究アプローチを可能にしています。今までは、高エネルギーX線散乱(コンプトン散乱)を利用し、運動量空間の電子密度分布(電子運動量密度分布)の観点から材料機能を左右する量子状態の決定を行ってきましたが、今後は、より多くの実験手法や解析手法の可能性を追求していきます。
